Laverne Lois Herwig

LaVerne Lois Herwig, age 90 of Sheboygan passed away Monday, October 16, 2017 at Sharon S. Richardson Community Hospice surrounded by her family.

Born September 22, 1927 in Sheboygan to Elmer and Marie (Meser) Bahr, LaVerne attended local schools and graduated from North High School in 1945. She was a secretary for the Gus Holman Company for many years. On June 7, 1947 she was united in marriage to Albert E. Herwig at St. Paul's Ev. Lutheran Church in Sheboygan. She enjoyed reading, quilting, knitting, camping, baking and was a Girl Scout Leader.

LaVerne is survived by her husband of 70 years, Albert E. Herwig, her daughters, Judith (Michael) Thun and Sharon (Stan) Schielke, grandchildren, Jodi Davis, Robert (Jamie) Thun, Kevin Tolzman, Kendra (Jeff) Kelling and Alec Schielke, great grandchildren, Molly (Andrew Hegge) Johnson, Jacob (Avery) Tolzman, William Tolzman, Sebastian Davis & Peyton Kelling, great great grandchildren, Colin & Lillian Hegge and her brother James (Jean) Bahr.

She was preceded in death by her parents Elmer & Marie Bahr, her granddaughter Michelle Tolzman, son in law Steven Zimmermann and sisters Jean Bulk & Doris Opgenorth.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, October 21, 2017 at 12 Noon at Fountain Park United Methodist Church, 828 Erie Ave., Sheboygan. The Rev. Warren Waddell will officiate. Family and friends will be received from 10:00 AM until the time of service. She will be laid to rest at Greenlawn Memorial Park.

A memorial fund has been established in her name.
