La Mar L. Chapman, 88, of the Town of Sheboygan, passed away Wednesday, August 12, 2015 at Sunny Ridge Health & Rehabilitation Center where he had been residing. Born February 3, 1927 in Plymouth, La Mar was the only son of the late Lawrence and Gertrude Peters Chapman. He attended schools in Sheboygan Falls and graduated from Sheboygan Falls High School in 1946. He then continued his education at the Sheboygan Business College. On May 16, 1959, he was united in marriage to Lois A. Krepsky at St. Luke's United Methodist Church in Sheboygan by the Rev. T. Perry Jones. La Mar worked at Clevepak in Plymouth as a sales manager. He previously worked for the Vollrath Company. He was a member of St. Luke's United Methodist Church. He enjoyed traveling, gardening and big band music. He was an avid war historian and loved building model planes and ships. His greatest joy was spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren. He is survived by his wife, Lois, Town of Sheboygan; his children, Peggy (Phil) Kesner, Sheboygan Falls, Tammy (Paul) Corson, Sheboygan Falls, and Randy (Mary) Chapman, Sheboygan; four grandchildren, Jennifer (Scott) Ponath, Sheboygan, Katelyn (Nicholas) Weborg, Neenah, Kyle Corson, Sheboygan Falls, and Andrew Chapman; three great grandchildren, Alivia Gardapee, Addison and Avery Ponath, all of Sheboygan. He is further survived by his sister, Colleen Brickner, Plymouth; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother-in-law, Walter Brickner and his sister-in-law, Jean (Orville) Brandt. Funeral services for La Mar will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 15, 2015 at the Olson Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 1132 Superior Avenue. The Rev. Richard Olson will officiate. Family and friends are welcome at the funeral home on Saturday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service. Entombment will take place in the Chapel of Eternal Light. A memorial fund has been established in his name for the Sharon S. Richardson Community Hospice. The family would like to thank the nurses and staff of Sunny Ridge and the Sharon S.
