Kevin J. Schmidt, Sr.

Kevin J. Schmidt, Sr., 61 of Sheboygan, passed away Tuesday, March 30, 2021 at his home.
Born November 3, 1959 in Sheboygan, Kevin was a son of the late William and Edith Jankovich Schmidt. He attended Sheboygan area schools and graduated from Sheboygan North High School.
Kevin was a journeyman carpenter for the Carpenter's Union for many years. He previously worked as an auto mechanic in the Sheboygan area. He was a member of Holy Name of Jesus Catholic Church. He loved spending time with his grandchildren. He enjoyed camping and spending time outdoors with his children and family.
He is survived by his two sons, Kevin (Rebecca Brotz) Schmidt, Sheboygan, and William (Stephani) Schmidt, Adell; his step-children, Sydne Blackshear and Stephen Blackshear, Sheboygan; his grandchildren, Kevin Schmidt, Trishanna Butler and Kameron Schmidt, all of Kiel, Karter and Kathleen Brotz of Sheboygan, and Avery and Orion Schmidt of Adell; his brothers, John (Shoot It), William, and Frederick (Lisa) Schmidt, all of Sheboygan. He is further survived by his significant other, Amy Papendieck and family friend, Angie Torres; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Cody, and his sister, Lori Schmidt.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, April 8, 2021 at 1:00 p.m. at Holy Name of Jesus Catholic Church, 835 Huron Avenue. Family and friends are welcome at the church on Thursday from 11:00 a.m. until the time of Mass. COVID-19 guidelines and social distancing will be observed and masks are required. Interment will take place in Calvary Cemetery.
A memorial fund has been established in his name.
The Olson Funeral Home & Cremation Service has been entrusted with Kevin's arrangements.
