Kevin A. Potyen

Kevin Alan Ignatius Potyen, 54, of Sheboygan Falls, passed away Saturday, December 16, 2023 at his brother's home surrounded by his loved ones.
He is survived by his parents, Alan and Marilyn; his brother, Mark and sister in law Lynn; nephews, Erik and Alex; niece, Rachel (Jordan); best friends, Scott and Natalia Wilson; long time companion, Melanie Johnson; and the daughter he never had, Lyric Johnson.
Ever the gamer, Kevin moved to Sheboygan from Glen Ellyn, IL. in 2006 to work for his sister in law, Lynn at The GameBoard.  Where he worked for 15 years, as a loyal employee and friend. The games industry has lost an amazing and inventive mind.
Kevin asks that you remember him as "having tried his best to make the lives of people around him better."
A celebration gathering will take place on Friday, December 22, 2023 from 5:00 - 7:00 p.m. at the Olson Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 1132 Superior Avenue, Sheboygan.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. James the Apostle Catholic Church, 480 S. Park Blvd, Glen Ellyn, IL 60137 on Saturday, January 6, 2024 at 10:00 a.m. Family and friends are welcome at the church at the time of the Mass.
The family wants to thank Deb Gray, his nurse navigator and Drs. Woody and Stan from The Vince Lombardi Cancer Clinic for their amazing care of Kevin for the last 20 months. Also The Sharon S. Richardson Community Hospice for all of the care the last 2 weeks.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established in his name.
The Olson Funeral Home & Cremation Service has been entrusted with Kevin's arrangements.
