Kathleen Koelpin, 67, of 916 Huron Avenue, Apt 208, died on Sunday November 9, 2014 at 8:43 p.m. after a long two year battle with cancer at her home surrounded by her loving family. Born February 7, 1947 in Sheboygan, Kathleen was a daughter of the late Lawrence Housey (who died December 13, 2007) and Elaine Housey who is still living. Kathleen graduated from North High School in June of 1966; was united in marriage to Dale Koelpin on November 26, 1966 at St. John's Ev. & Reformed Church, Sheboygan and chose to remain a house wife. The couple was married for 47 years. Kathleen throughout her years had a variety of different interests but towards the end she enjoyed studying the Bible, reading Christian books, listening to Christian music and watching her favorite T.V. shows. She is survived by her husband, Dale; four children, Brenda Gardner, Jeff Koelpin, Gina Koelpin, and Jonathan (Jessica) Koelpin, all of Sheboygan; six grandchildren, Bobby (Victoria) Gardner, Jr., Corina Yang, Caylee Yang, Chyra Yang, Dakota Koelpin and Bryten Koelpin; two great grandchildren, Kayden Gardner and MaKayla Gardner; three sisters, Marlene (Tom Kammerzelt) Schoen, Debbie (the late Brian) Bunge and Laura (Dave Nitze) Hoffmann; three brothers, Richard (Shirley), Kenneth (Jeanine) and Donald; a brother-in-law, Daniel (Karen) Koelpin; nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. Funeral services will take place at 12:00 p.m. on Thursday, November 13, 2014 at the Olson Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 1132 Superior Avenue. Pastor Michael Wilson of Ministry of Peace International Church will officiate. Relatives and friends are welcome at the funeral home on Thursday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. Burial will take place in Wildwood Cemetery. The family would like to thank the nurses and staff of the Sharon S. Richardson Community Hospice for the support they gave to the family and living care they gave Kathleen. And a very special thank you to Dale and Kathleen's neighbor and friend, Jean Baker for her friendship, support and care during this difficult time. We would also like to thank Rose, who is Jean Baker's care giver, for going above and beyond her duties of care for Jean and also helped on her own time caring for Kathleen.
