Karen Lee Gottsacker

October 23, 1943 — December 5, 2012

Karen Lee Gottsacker, 69, of Sheboygan passed away Wednesday morning, December 5, 2012 at Sunny Ridge Rehabilitation Center. Born October 23, 1943 in Sheboygan, Karen was a daughter of the late Robert and Anita Bassuener Snippen. She attended area schools and graduated from Sheboygan Falls High School in 1961. On November 6, 1965, she was united in marriage to Richard R. Gottsacker at Holy Name of Jesus Catholic Church. Karen was the executive secretary for the Sheboygan County Chamber of Commerce, retiring after 24 years. She previously worked for the Reiss Coal Company. She enjoyed reading, camping and the outdoors. She was an avid quilter but her greatest joy was the time she spent doing things with her family. We already miss the conversations and the many laughs. She is survived by her husband, Richard; two sons, Pat (Jinnet), Portland, OR, and Ryan (Lisa), Wauwatosa; and two grandchildren, Eli and Elowyn, Portland, OR; other relatives and friends. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Paul Gottsacker and her sister, Barbara Schimpf. A Memorial Gathering will take place on Sunday, December 16, 2012 from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. at the Lippert-Olson Funeral Home, 1132 Superior Avenue. The family would like to thank the nurses and staff of St. Nicholas Home Health and Hospice and Sunny Ridge for all of their loving care and support. A memorial fund has been established in her name. The Lippert-Olson Funeral Home has been entrusted with Karen's arrangements.
