June 22, 1924 — January 8, 2020

June A. Winter, 95, of Sheboygan, passed away Wednesday evening, January 8, 2020 at Golden Harbor where she had been residing.
Born June 22, 1924 in Sheboygan, June was a daughter of the late Oscar and Meta Siebaldt Walt. She attended Sheboygan area schools and graduated from Sheboygan Central High School in 1943. On August 28, 1948, she was united in marriage to Glenn A. Winter at Zion United Church of Christ. They were married for 28 years before Glenn preceded her in death on June 20, 1977.
June was a sock pairer inspector for the Hand Knit Hosiery Co. until her retirement in 1950. She later worked as a custodian at Zion UCC until 1986. She was a life long member of Zion Covenant Church where she was a very active member. She sang in the church senior choir where she served as the secretary, was a member of the Elizabeth Circle, volunteered in the kitchen,helped with the Brotherhood and with summer school. She also served as the chairwoman for the Central High School Class of 1943 class reunion and was on the membership committee of Community Concerts. She enjoyed traveling and having lunch with her friends.
She is survived by her daughter, Patricia (Russell Jr.) Doxtator, Cleveland; and her grandson, Russell Doxtator, III, Sheboygan.
Besides her parents, Oscar and Meta, and her husband, Glenn, Sr. she was preceded in death by her son, Glenn A. Winter, Jr., and her in-laws, Elmer and Ella Winter.
Funeral services for June will take place at 12:00 p.m. on Wednesday, January 15, 2020 at Zion Covenant Church, 1125 N 6th Street, Sheboygan. Pastor Chris McKnight will officiate. Family and friends are welcome at the church on Wednesday from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service. Interment will take place in Sheboygan Falls Cemetery next to her husband, Glenn.
A memorial fund has been established in her name.
The family would like to thank the nurses and staff of Harbor House and the Sharon S. Richardson Community Hospice for all of their loving care and support.
The Olson Funeral Home & Cremation Service has been entrusted with June's arrangements.
