Born June 12, 1931 in Chicago, June was a daughter of the late Walter and Lydia Martin Samson. She attended Chicago area schools. On August 5, 1950, she was united in marriage Charles R. Todd in Chicago. They were married for 63 years before Chuck preceded her in death on October 13, 2013.
June worked as secretary in Park Ridge, IL for many years. She was a member of St. Luke's Lutheran Church in Park Ridge, IL, where she helped direct the church plays.
She was a prolific writer who enjoyed writing poems and short stories. She enjoyed spending time in her garden tending to her roses. They both enjoyed traveling around the country, especially back and forth from Florida to Wisconsin. Together, they loved square dancing with their friends out at Plymouth Rock Camp Ground and would often plan their trips around square dancing. During the summers, she would take time off to spend time with her boys where they would enjoy swimming, especially at Lake Wauconda. She was also a member of "The Club" which was a group of high school friends who she kept in contact with and spent time with over the years.
She is survived by her son, Dan and Bea Todd, Sheboygan; her granddaughters, Monique (Dino) Castillo, Sheboygan, Jessica Todd, Sheboygan, Katherine Todd, Algoma, and Rebecca (Josh) Gilson, Sheboygan; six great grandchildren, Charlyze, Trey and Wilhelmina Castillo, Hailey Brock, and Madeline and Cooper Gilson; extended family, Joan and Sam Parla and family and Bonnie and Danny Larson and Family; her dear friends, Alice Kolar and June Wolfurt; other relatives and friends.
Funeral services were held December 22, 2018 at the Olson Funeral Home & Cremation Service with recognition of her late son, Robert and her husband Charles, which included Military Honors for his service in the Korean War.
The family would like to thank the nurses and staff of Terrace Place and St. Nicholas Home Health & Hospice for all of their loving care and support.
