June Rose Gulbrand, age 93, passed away on February 15, 2026, at her home in Random Lake, WI no doubt shaking her head that she was being written about —something she consistently avoided.
June was born May 31, 1932, in Outagamie County, WI to Norman and Amy (nee Andrus) Reed. June married Berdette Graden Gulbrand on June 1, 1968, and together they raised his three children and her 5 children, later adding another to the large family. She leaves behind her children Clifford “Buddy” (JoLynn) Kutzner, Katherine (John) Greiner, Barba Kutzner, and Sarah (Gene) Grabowski; eight grandchildren Aaron, Jacob, Gabriel, Faith, Sean, Kip, Ian and Graden; seventeen great grandchildren; and one great great grandchild. She is also survived by her sisters Arlene “Tooty” Hill and Janet Lauterbach, and her dear friend Gerri (Jim) Michels.
June is preceded in death by her husband Berdette; her daughters Elizabeth “Lizzy” and Jennifer; her stepdaughter Barbara Gayle; her brother Morris “Sonny”; and her sisters Virginia, Patricia, Marilyn, and Sue.
Never one to sit still with her signature red hair and fiery independent attitude, June spent her retirement happily working every job Western Sky Ranch handed her—groundskeeper, animal caretaker, maintenance lead, stable hand, housekeeper, organizer, pet sitter, gardener and resident “keep-busy and be productive” expert. She took pride in helping others and working behind the scenes where she felt most at home.
June will be remembered for her tireless work ethic, veracious reading, endless knowledge, steady support, and her gift for making everyone else shine. She will be deeply missed—but we’re sure she’s already helping keep heaven in tip top shape. In lieu of flowers or memorials, in honor of June, do something productive that is helpful to someone or something else.
The family wishes to thank Sharon S. Richardson Community Hospice and Olson Funeral Home for the incredible support they have provided during this time.
Per June’s request, there will be no funeral. A celebration of her life is planned for a later date.
