Judith G. Kerr-Wright of Sheboygan was called to eternal life on Monday, March 24, 2014, at the age of 68. Judie was born in Milwaukee on May 7, 1945, to the late Roy and Dorothy (Holz) Berggren. Judie's father Roy died when she was only 10 months old. In her early years, Judie grew up with her mother, grandparents, aunt and uncle, and her dear cousins, Floyd and Dorothea Berggren. In 1950 her mother married Daniel Johannes, who adopted her as his own. Judie graduated from Rufus King High School in Milwaukee and from the University of Wisconsin, Madison, with a degree in art education. After college Judie taught art in the Washington DC school system and worked for the National Archives and the Treasury Department during the Nixon administration. Throughout her life Judie was an artist, art teacher, and patroness of the arts. She loved her family and friends, her dogs, art, wine and good food. Judie married Preston Kerr in 1981 in Newport Beach, CA. Following Preston's death in 1991, she married Michael Wright. Judie returned to Wisconsin in 2004 to be near her aging parents. Judie worked for the Kohler Corporation at Artspace in Kohler. Judie is survived by her father, Daniel Johannes, Sheboygan; brother, Robert Johannes, Manitowoc; niece, Pearl (Trevor) Bayda, DePere; nephew, August Johannes, Nebraska; and by cousins and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband Preston Kerr and by her sister-in-law, Lisa Johannes. A Memorial Service will be celebrated at 3:00 p.m. on Friday, March 28, 2014 at the Olson Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 1132 Superior Avenue. Pastor Robert Johannes will officiate. Family and friends are welcome at the funeral home on Friday from 2:00 p.m. until the time of service. A memorial fund has been established in her name.
