Johanna A. "Hanna" Anhalt, 96, of Sheboygan, passed away Saturday morning, November 12, 2016 at Golden Living Center where she had been residing.
Born November 28, 1919 in Wisconsin, Johanna was a daughter of the late Anton and Marie Krebsbach. She attended St. Mary's School in Marytown. On October 19, 1940, she was united in marriage to Jerome A. Anhalt at St. Peter & Paul Church in Kiel. They were married for 55 years before Jerome preceded her in death in October of 1996.
Hanna was a homemaker who enjoyed playing cards, gardening and dice games for pennies. She was an avid Green Bay Packer, Wisconsin Badgers and Milwaukee Brewers fan. She was a member of Holy Name of Jesus Catholic Church and the St. Ann's Society.
She is survived by her son, James (Marilyn) Anhalt, Sun Prairie; her daughter, Joyce (Richard) Zonick, Sheboygan Falls; five grandchildren, Patrick (Richelle) Anhalt, Sun Prairie, Peter (Tina) Anhalt, Waunakee, Erica (Thomas) Holquist, Powell, OH, Scott (Andrea) Zonick, Appleton and Tina Zonick (Matthew); eight great grandchildren, Hanna and J.P. Anhalt, Sun Prairie, Sydney and Zachary Anhalt, Waunakee, Hadley and Fletcher Holquist, Powell, OH, and Brianna (fiancé Lucas Groetzinger) and Brandon Zonick, Appleton; her sister-in-law, Sylvia Anhalt, Kiel; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Besides her parents and husband, Jerome, she was preceded in death by her sister, Alvina (Allen) Collin and two brothers.
A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, November 17, 2016 at Holy Name of Jesus Catholic Church, 807 Superior Avenue. Fr. Gideon Buya will celebrate the Mass. Family and friends are welcome at the church on Thursday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of Mass. Entombment will take place in the Gardens of Peace Mausoleum.
A memorial fund has been established in her name for Holy Name Church.
