Joanne M. Wilson, 81, of Sheboygan, passed away peacefully with her sisters by her side on Saturday, March 14, 2026, at Lakehouse Assisted Living in Sheboygan. She was born January 25, 1945, in Sheboygan to the late Cletus and Marjorie (Kellner) Zohlen. Joanne graduated from Sheboygan North High School with the Class of 1963 and continued her education in the nursing program at Marshfield Hospital and worked for the VNA in Milwaukee for many years. In September 1970 she was united in marriage to Charles Benjamin Wilson at Holy Name of Jesus Catholic Church in Sheboygan. They celebrated 35 years together. After his retirement they moved to Antigo, where she continued to work as a nurse. In 2005, she moved back to Sheboygan to care for her mother.
Joanne had a strong faith and was a member of Holy Name of Jesus Catholic Church and enjoyed being involved with the St. Ann’s Society.
Joanne is survived by her three sisters: Mary Lange of Sheboygan Falls, Ruth (Gary) McLaws of Sheboygan, and Jean Klahn of Hillsboro. She is further survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Joanne was preceded in death by her parents, husband Charles, brothers-in-law James Lange and Terry Cox, nephew Jason Lange and great-niece Andrea Kraus.
A Memorial Mass will be held on Saturday, March 21, 2026, at 3:00 PM at Holy Name of Jesus Catholic Church, 818 Huron Ave., Sheboygan, with Fr. Nick Baumgardner officiating. Relatives and friends may visit with the family on Saturday, March 21, 2026, from 1:00 PM until the time of mass at the CHURCH.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Alzheimer's Association or Holy Name of Jesus Catholic Church in Joanne’s name.
