Jessica M. Karstaedt, 43, of Sheboygan, passed away Friday morning, August 1, 2014 at her home surrounded by her loving family. She courageously battled cancer for over three years. Born June 5, 1971 in Sheboygan, Jessica was a daughter of Joan Mulder Landwehr and the late Oswald Landwehr. She attended area schools and graduated from Sheboygan North High School. She then continued her education at Concordia University in River Forrest, IL and received her CNA certification from LTC in Sheboygan. On August 1, 1998, she was united in marriage to Bruce R. Karstaedt in Sheboygan. Jessica worked at the Sheboygan Senior Community from 1995 until her health required her to retire in early 2014. She previously worked at McDonald's and at Companion Care. She was an active member of Trinity Lutheran Church where she taught Sunday School and sang in the choir. She enjoyed reading, choral music, doing crossword puzzles and Sudoku. She also helped deliver bakery for the food pantry. Her greatest joy was her cats and the time she spent with her family, especially her nephew and nieces. She is survived by her husband, Bruce; her brothers William (Brenda) Landwehr, Kiel, Anthony (Dawn) Landwehr, Cleveland, and her twin, John (Shelly) Landwehr, DePere; nephew and nieces, Johnathan Bourassa, Manitowoc, Amanda (fiancé Jesse) Landwehr, New Holstein, Erica Landwehr, Appleton, Erin Landwehr, Kiel, Emily Landwehr, Kiel and Dakota Landwehr, DePere; other relatives and many friends. She was preceded in death by her father, Oswald Landwehr and her grandparents, Otto and Leona Landwehr and Harold and Betty Mulder. A Memorial Service for Jessica will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, August 6, 2014 at Trinity Lutheran Church, 824 Wisconsin Avenue. The Rev. Timothy Mech, pastor, will officiate. Family and friends are welcome at the church on Wednesday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service. Inurnment will take place in the Chapel of Eternal Light of Greenlawn Memorial Park. A memorial fund has been established in her name. The Olson Funeral Home & Cremation Service has been entrusted with Jessica's arrangements
