Jerome "Jerry" Loacker

August 22, 1946 — December 12, 2020

Jerome “Jerry” Loacker, known as “Pop” to his grandchildren, 74, of Sheboygan Falls passed away peacefully on December 12, 2020 at home with his loving family.

He was born in Chicago to Hubert and Alice Loacker on August 22, 1946. Jerry graduated from Fenwick H.S. (Oak Park, IL) in 1964, from Bradley University (Peoria, IL) in 1968 with a B.A. in mathematics, and received an M.B.A. from Loyola University (Chicago, IL) in 1973. Jerry served his country in the U.S. Army during the Viet Nam War. On May 23, 1970, he married Mary Lou Haun in Schiller Park, IL. He spent his entire career working in Information Technology for Honeywell, Inc. in Arlington Heights, IL and later in Minneapolis. Following retirement in 2001, they moved to Sheboygan Falls to be close to their daughters and their families.

Through the years, he played tennis and golf and has always been a steadfast Packer fan, even though he lived in the Chicago and Twin Cities areas for most of his life. He appreciated and collected all kinds of music and enjoyed sailing and travel adventures, especially to Germany, Italy, and Hawaii. Most of all, he loved to laugh and make others laugh.

Jerry is survived by his wife, Mary Lou, of 50 years; his daughters Karen Maher (Edward) of Frisco, TX and Alison Taylor (John) of Cato, WI; his six grandchildren, Jack and Lauren (Maher) and Clayton, Andrea, Molly, and Patrick (Taylor); his brother, Michael, of Isabela, Puerto Rico; his sisters Lisa (William) Pollack of Evanston, IL and Mary Alice Hunter of Las Vegas; his sisters-in-law Diana (William) Scavone of Lombard, IL, Anna Melton of Boerne, TX, Janet (Charles) Bokemeier of Castle Pines, CO, Verna Loacker of Lake in the Hills, IL, and Sherri Haun of Abilene, TX; his brother-in-law Gary (Rachel) Haun of San Angelo, TX; and his cherished nieces and nephews across the country.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his mother and father-in-law, Mary and Lewis Haun; his brother, James and his brothers-in-law, Robert Melton and Art Haun.
