Jeannette Kendell Lorenz, of Sheboygan, passed away Tuesday morning, October 27, 2015 at Waterford of Plymouth. Born November 4, 1916 in Sun Prairie, WI, Jeannette was a daughter of the late George and Laura Hessing Kendell. She graduated from Sun Prairie High School in 1934 and continued her education at the Whitewater State Teachers College, graduating 1938. On June 28, 1947, she was united in marriage to Roland K. Lorenz in Sun Prairie. They were married for 41 years before Roland preceded her in death on June 17, 1989. Jeannette was a business education teacher for the Sheboygan Public School District from 1946 until her retirement in 1987. Her teaching career spanned 47 years which included teaching in three other districts. She was a member of St. Mark Lutheran Church and was actively involved in bible study and teaching Sunday School. She and Roland were members of the Civil Air Patrol. She enjoyed traveling, reading, sewing, knitting, crocheting and gardening. She is survived by her sister, Mildred Oakey, Madison; her brother-in-law, Ellsworth Jaeger, Sheboygan; two sisters-in-law, Patricia Kendell, Rockford, IL, and Bonnie Kendell, Des Moines, IA; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Besides her husband, Roland, she was preceded in death by her two sisters, Alice Kendell and Dorothy Holtan; her two brothers, Gerald and Richard Kendell; and sisters-in-law, Darlene Jaeger and Ruth Lorenz, Sheboygan. Funeral services for Jeannette will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 31, 2015 at the Olson Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 1132 Superior Avenue. The Rev. Brett Matz will officiate. Family and friends are welcome at the funeral home on Saturday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service. Entombment will take place in Garden Terrace Mausoleum. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established in her name for St. Mark Lutheran Bible Study or the Mead Public Library. The family would like to thank the nurses and staff of Waterford of Plymouth for all of their loving care and the support shown to Jeannette.
