Janice Mae Ruge

Janice Mae Ruge, 85, of Sheboygan, passed away early Friday morning, March 4, 2022 at the Grafton Aurora Medical Center.
Born May 3, 1936 in Sheboygan, Janice was the only daughter of the late Arno and Pauline Welsh Schanglies. She attended Ebenezer Lutheran Elementary School and graduated from Central High School in 1954. On December 29, 1956, she was united in marriage to Norbert E. Ruge at Ebenezer Lutheran Church in Sheboygan.
Janice was a member of Our Redeemer Lutheran Church where she served as the past chairperson of the Altar Guild, past president of the Deaconess Circle and held various other offices and served on committees. She also served as the coordinator for Diana's Angel Project, Sheboygan Chapter since 2002. She was the past secretary and treasurer of the AAL Branch 2843, past secretary of the Bethesda Chapter of Sheboygan and volunteered with the LBW (Lutheran Braille Workers) Sheboygan Chapter. She was actively involved with scouting in Sheboygan County. She was a homemaker and crafter who enjoyed spending time with her family and grandchildren.
She is survived by her children, Tom Ruge, Sheboygan, and Sandra (Raymond) Bartlett, Sheboygan; two grandchildren, Arthur (Abi) Bartlett and Abby Bartlett; and her great grandson, Henry Bartlett.
Funeral services for Janice will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, March 10, 2022 at the Lutheran Church of Our Redeemer, 3027 Wilgus Avenue, Sheboygan. The Rev. Bryan Osladil will officiate. Family and friends are welcome at the church on Thursday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. Interment will take place in Sunrise Memorial Gardens.
A memorial fund has been established in her name for Our Redeemer Lutheran Church.
The Olson Funeral Home & Cremation Service has been entrusted with Janice's arrangements.
