James J. "Jim" Fessler, 77, of 2309 N. 38th St. Sheboygan, died peacefully Sunday, March 17, 2013. Born September 11, 1935, in St. Francis, WI, Jim was a son of the late Joseph and Agnes Schmitz Fessler. Jim was a graduate of Don Bosco High School. On August 27, 1960, he was united in marriage to Karen Labecki. Jim served his country in the U.S. Army. Following his discharge from the Army, Jim started working at the Ladish Company. Upon obtaining his real estate license Jim began working for the Forest Hills Real Estate Company. In 1970 Jim moved his family to Sheboygan where he worked with his brother-in-law for 17 years at GT Hauling and then E&K Hauling and Superior. He enjoyed boating and water skiing, working with his hands doing carpentry, watching football, especially the Packers, but most of all he loved spending time with his family. He is survived by his wife Karen; two children, Kris (Chris) Hanson, Cleveland, WI, Matt Fessler, Camarillo, CA, five grandchildren, Elizabeth (Jason) Sohn, Kelsey and Megan Hanson, Emily and Allison Fessler; three great grandchildren, Jacob, Abigail and Jack; three sisters, Mary Mettry, Margaret (Al) Tarnowski, Judith (Jack) Burckhard; his mother-in-law, Thelma Labecki; other relatives and many friends. He was further survived by very special nieces and nephews who truly warmed his heart. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, March 20, 2013, at St. Dominic Catholic Church, 2133 N. 22nd St., with the Rev. Philip Reifenberg, pastor, as celebrant. Relatives and friends are welcome at the Lippert-Olson Funeral Home, 1132 Superior Ave on Tuesday from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., and at the church on Wednesday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the mass. A memorial fund has been established in his name. The family would like to thank Dr Kumar and his kind and caring staff as well as Sharon S. Richardson Community Hospice for the loving care they gave Jim.
