James Lawrence Anderson, 72, of Sheboygan, passed away Monday evening, February 1, 2021 at Rocky Knoll Health Care Center where he had been residing.
Born May 27, 1948 in Escanaba, MI, James was a son of the late Maurice and Gertrude Anderson. He attended All Saints School and graduated from Holy Name High School in Escanaba. He then furthered his education at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor and received his MBA from the University of Michigan.
On June 1, 1973 he was united in marriage to Linda K. Steele in Ann Arbor, Michigan. Jim was an accountant for the University of Michigan for many years. After moving to Sheboygan, WI he taught accounting and economics at the University of Wisconsin-Sheboygan.
Jim was a huge sports fan who loved attending and watching sports. He was a proud lifelong University of Michigan Wolverines fan. He coached his daughters’ youth sports teams when they were young and enjoyed playing basketball and racquetball. Jim loved music and enjoyed attending concerts, going to plays and reading. He had an excellent sense of humor and was very playful and fun. Jim will be remembered as a kind, friendly, generous person, and a gentle spirit who loved his family and friends.
He is survived by his daughters, Nicole Anderson and Kristin Anderson, both of Tucson, AZ; his granddaughter, Lyndsie Anderson, Tucson, AZ; his former wife and best friend, Linda Anderson, Tucson, AZ; sisters Maryce Farrell Rapid River, MI, Pam Stevens (Mike) Saline, MI, Trudy Driscoll (Tom) Saline, MI and many nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers Jere Anderson and Tom Anderson and sister Mary Phelan Rienks (Randy).
Private family services will take place at a later date.
The family would like to thank the nurses and staff of Rocky Knoll and Compassus Hospice for all of their loving care and support.
The Olson Funeral Home & Cremation Service has been entrusted with Jim's arrangements.
