Jack A. Aschenbach, 91, of Sheboygan, passed away Monday morning, July 18, 2022 at Sheboygan Senior Community, surrounded by his family.
Born August 12, 1930 in Sheboygan, Jack was a son of the late Edward and Laura Landwehr Aschenbach. He attended Sheboygan area schools and graduated from Central High School. He went on to serve his country in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War. On June 14, 1958, he was united in marriage to Nancy G. Launer at St. Paul Ev. Lutheran Church. They were married for almost 59 years before Nancy preceded him in death on June 12, 2017.
Jack worked at VPI in Sheboygan for many years until his retirement. He previously worked at the Amira Leather Company for 23 years. He was a member of St. Paul Ev. Lutheran Church where he enjoyed playing on the dart ball league. He was an avid sports fan and loved to cheer on the Milwaukee Brewers, Green Bay Packers and the Wisconsin Badgers. He enjoyed playing bingo, cards and puzzles. He also enjoyed fishing, camping and hunting. He will always be remembered for his smile and giving out nick names to all.
He is survived by his children, Denise (Tom) Seefeldt, Sheboygan, Joy (Kevin) Archer, Sheboygan, Brett (Linda) Aschenbach, Sheboygan, Holly (Scott) Anderson, Wausaukee, and John Aschenbach, Arizona; six grandchildren, Eric (Kari) Seefeldt, Trevor Seefeldt, Nate (Migena Dilolli) Archer, Jena (Nick) Gaylord, Ashley (Kyle) Chmela, and Katie (Keith) Green; five great grandchildren, Landon Seefeldt, Logan Gaylord, Millie Dilolli Archer, Kai Chmela, and Julia Green; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Besides his parents and his wife, Nancy, he was preceded in death by his sisters, Marion (Karl) Perleberg, Ruth (Gene) Glaubig, Loretta (Donald) Burtard and Anna (Nello) Zarletti; his brothers, Lester (Dorothy), Edgar (Georgiana), and Edward (Joyce); his sister-in-law, Delores (Donald) Rudie; and his brothers-in-law, Wayne (Sharon) Launer and Jerry (Phylis) Launer.
Funeral services for Jack will take place at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, July 21, 2022 at the Olson Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 1132 Superior Avenue. Family and friends are welcome at the funeral home on Thursday from 4:00 p.m. until the time of service. Entombment will take place in the Gardens of Peace Mausoleum.
A memorial fund has been established in his name.
