Gladys L. Richter

Gladys L. Richter, age 87 of Sheboygan passed away peacefully Friday, December 15, 2017 surrounded by her loved ones at Countryside Manor where she had been residing.

Born July 22, 1930 in Sheboygan, she was the eldest daughter of the late Gottlieb and Laura (Schroeder) Richter. She attended Bethlehem Lutheran School and was a 1948 graduate of Central High School.

On December 17, 1949 she was united in marriage to Walter Richter at Bethlehem Lutheran Church. After raising her children, Gladys attended the Lakeshore Technical Institute's Licensed Practical Nursing Program, graduating and becoming licensed 1n 1969. She spent a fufilling career as an L.P.N. at St. Nicholas Hospital retiring in 1986.

As a longtime member of Our Savior's Lutheran Church Gladys served as a usher. She enjoyed raising her children, her nursing career, baking and knitting. Before Wally's Death in 1994, as a couple they enjoyed dancing, eating out at Schwartz's Supper Club, hosting perch fry dinners and taking golf vacations with relatives.

Gladys is survived by two daughters, Paulette (Harold) Stanfield and Kathleen (Larry) Donawa, and one son Michael Richter. She is further survived by many relatives and friends.

Gladys was preceded in death by her husband Walter, a sister, Shirley, a son, Thomas and a infant daughter, Marietta.

Funeral services for Gladys will be held at 7:00 P.M. Wednesday, December 20, 2017 at the Olson Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 1132 Superior Avenue, Sheboygan. Rev. James Schulz will officiate. Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home form 4:00 P.M. until the time of service. Interment will take place at Sunrise Memorial Gardens.

A memorial fund has been established in her name.
