Gerald James Lieske, 84, of Sheboygan, passed away Monday, October 30, 2023 at the Sharon S. Richardson Hospice surrounded by his family.
Born July 6, 1939 in Plymouth, Gerald was a son of the late Eldon and Edna Plautz Lieske. He attended St. Paul's Lutheran School and Central North High School. On September 7, 1957, he was united in marriage to Evelyn K. Tews at St. Paul's Lutheran Church.
Jerry operated the local office of Woodmen Financial Resources in Sheboygan for 25 years before his retirement. He previously worked for the Milwaukee Cheese Company for 25 years. He was a lifelong member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church and was a former member of the Sheboygan Auxiliary Police/Civil Defense. He was an avid fisherman who also enjoyed hunting and golfing. He also loved to cheer on his favorite Wisconsin sports teams.
He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Evelyn; his daughter, Linda (Rod) Menzer, Sheboygan; his three granddaughters, Carolyn (Andrew Klotz) Eddy, Seattle, WA, Suzanna (Nicholas Yeutter) Eddy, New Berlin, and Kimberly (Sean) Kavanagh, Oklahoma City, OK; two great grandchildren, Finn Kavanagh and Graham Yeutter; two daughters-in-law, Jodi Lieske, Duluth, MN, and Laurie Nicoll, Oklahoma City, OK; his sisters, Sandra (James) Blood, Waunakee, Bonnie (Keith) Kraemer, and Sheryl (Timothy) Sirianni, both of Sheboygan; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his sons, James and Barry Lieske and an infant son.
Funeral services for Jerry will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, November 6, 2023 at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, 1810 N. 13th Street, Sheboygan. Pastor Alan Kretschmar will officiate. Family and friends are welcome at the church on Monday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service. Interment will take place in Lutheran Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established in his name for St. Paul's Lutheran Church.
The family would like to thank the nurses and staff of the Sharon S. Richardson Community Hospice for all of their loving care and support.
The Olson Funeral Home & Cremation Service has been entrusted with Jerry's arrangements.
