Georgiana A. Ewald, age 87, of 928 Wisconsin Ave., died Wednesday, November 21, 2012 at HCR ManorCare, Fond du Lac, WI. Georgiana was born September 16, 1925, to the late Anton and Esther Degenhardt Maurer in Sheboygan. Georgiana attended Sheboygan public schools and graduated from Sheboygan Central High School. She was united in marriage to Henry Ewald on September 4, 1946 in Sheboygan. The couple was married for 58 years before Henry preceded her in death on April 25, 2004. Georgiana was employed as a secretary for the Sheboygan Public School System for 30 years, retiring in 1985. She enjoyed crossword and word puzzles, walking, swimnastics, was very computer savvy and enjoyed e-mailing family and friends. Her husband Hank was the love of her life and her family, especially her son and granddaughters meant the world to her. She is survived by her son Richard (fiancee Nancy) of Fond du Lac; three granddaughters, Angela Ewald, St. Paul, MN, Melissa (Shaun) Peterson Fond du Lac, and Kristin Ewald, Fond du Lac; three great grandchildren Landon Peterson, Miles Ewald and Grace Peterson, all of Fond du Lac; two brothers, Jack (Maxine) Maurer and Robert (Betty) Maurer, both of Sheboygan; one sister, Joan Wellhoefer, Sheboygan; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by husband of 58 years, Henry; her parents, Anton & Esther Maurer; two sisters, Marion and Marjorie and her two brothers, Tony and Eugene. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m., Saturday, November 24, 2012, at the Lippert-Olson Funeral Home. Relatives and friends are welcome at the funeral home on Saturday from 1:00 p.m. until the time of service. Interment was at Garden Terrace Mausoleum. The family would like to thank the nurses and staff of HCR ManorCare for the loving care they gave Georgiana. Memorials may be given in her name to the St. Vincent DePaul, Fond du Lac, or the Stephanie H. Weill Center.
