Frederick Kuehlmann

September 4, 1932 — July 28, 2013

Frederick William Kuehlmann of Sheboygan was welcomed into God's arms on Sunday, July 28, 2013. Born September 4, 1932 in Sheboygan, Fredrick was a son of the late Frederick and Anna Klauser Kuehlmann. He attended area schools and graduated from North High School where he played football. He then went on to serve his country in the U.S. Army. While stationed in Germany, he played football and was a member of the Rhine Conference Fighting Finches. Following the service, he played semipro football in Sheboygan with the Redwings. On January 20, 1962, he was united in marriage to Marjorie M. Bogenschuetz at Holy Name of Jesus Catholic Church. Frederick was a journeyman for Kuehlmann Sheet Metal retiring after 44 years. He was a member of St. Paul Ev. Lutheran Church. He was a member of the American Legion, sang in men's choirs, enjoyed drawing and hiking. He shared his love of football by coaching his son's YMCA football and taking his family and friends to Packer games with his season tickets. More than anything, he enjoyed sharing the simple things in life with his family. He taught what he knew to anyone - his children, grandchildren and their friends. Nothing was more important than his relationship with his beloved grandchildren. There is nothing he wouldn't do for them or them for him. When his grandchildren were young, he enjoyed reading stories and playing trucks. When they got older, he was their biggest fan and cheerleader at sporting and band events. He traveled all over Wisconsin, especially state parks, and was quick to welcome you to come along. He was lucky enough to travel the country for army reunions with his football buddies. He is survived by his wife, Marjorie, Sheboygan; his three children, Marie (Scott) Bemis, William (Tammy) Kuehlmann, and Salena (David) Russell, all of Sheboygan; six grandchildren, Nicole and Kyle Bemis, Samantha and Alexandra Kuehlmann, and Courtney and Joshua Russell, all of Sheboygan; brothers and sister, Edwin (Betty) Kuehlmann, Kay (William) Kaemmer and Robert (Sandy) Kuehlmann, all of Sheboygan; two brothers-in-law, Donald (Diane) Bogenschuetz and Charles "Koz" Kostmercock; and a sister-in-law, Karen Bogenschuetz, both of Sheboygan; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Ruth (Ron) Laetsch and Joan Kostmercock, a brother-in-law, Leroy Bogenschuetz and a sister-in-law, Judy Kuehlmann. Funeral services for Fred will take place at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, July 31, 2013 at the Olson Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 1132 Superior Avenue. Rev. Alan Kretschmar will officiate.
