Frances B. Freitag

Frances B. Freitag, 79, of Sheboygan, passed away Wednesday morning, December 14, 2022 at the Shores of Sheboygan where she had been residing.
Born May 18, 1943 in Sheboygan, Frances was a daughter of the late Stephen and Mary Jafuta Andracek. She attended Sheboygan area schools and graduated from Sheboygan South High School in 1961. She was a graduate of UW Sheboygan and Lakeshore Technical College. On August 31, 1962, she was united in marriage to Lawrence H. Freitag at Our Redeemer Lutheran Church. They were married for 57 years before Larry preceded her in death on January 5, 2020.
She was passionate about baking, sewing, gardening, and wildlife, especially birdwatching. She enjoyed genealogy research and volunteered at the Sheboygan County Historical Research Center.
She is survived by her children, Meg (Duane Zelle) Vreeke, Sheboygan, Mary Lou Freitag, Coos Bay, OR, David Freitag, Sheboygan, and Katie (David Leemkuil) Freitag, Cottage Grove; her grandchildren, Brandon and Chelsea Vreeke, both of Sheboygan;  her sister, Judy (Steve) Maersch, Greendale; her brother, Steve (Charleen) Andracek, Watertown; her brother-in-law, Steve Freitag, Sheboygan; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Besides her parents and her husband, Larry, she was preceded in death by her sister, Mary Ann (Dennis) Marx.
Private family services will be held.
The family would like to thank the nurses and staff of the Shores of Sheboygan and Preceptor Hospice for all of their loving care and support.
