Evelyn M. Schramm

January 21, 1934 — July 7, 2017

Evelyn M. Schramm, 83, of Sheboygan, passed away on Friday, July 7, 2017 at her home.
Born January 21, 1934 in Baraboo, WI, Evelyn was a daughter of the late Harry and Bessie Mie Rau. She attended Sheboygan area schools and graduated from Sheboygan Central High School.
My purpose for life was: to love that tall, proud young man of seventeen, walking north on 9th Street (across from the Trilling Hardware Store) in his brown plaid shirt with sleeves rolled up to between his wrists and his elbow and brown pants towards me. That proud young man with such an infectious laugh that could lift your spirits sky high. That gentle young man who could stir my heart. That strong young man who could cry with me yet give me words of comfort. That loving man who could make my bad days good with just a soft kiss and hug.
He gave me four beautiful, wonderful children.
Donald: Our first born - Donnie always said that when God made him, he threw away the mold because he was so perfect. I had to show him wrong because he had competition now. Donald "Butch" was named Donald because I wanted Donnie to know how much I loved him.
David: Our second son - Donnie was still in the Navy and we did not settle on a name yet. David decided to come into this world so I named him David Brian. He was an actor that played a district attorney. At the time I did not know that Donnie would be in law enforcement and later work for a district attorney (Lance Jones).
Douglas: Our third son - was named after Donnie's best friend from childhood, Douglas Pangier. Douglas Pangier was our best man in our wedding at Trinity Lutheran Church on October 18, 1952.
Deborah: Our fourth child - finally, Donnie got his wish, a daughter. He had her name picked out from the beginning. He gave her the middle name Lynn to show his love for me by taking the best part of my name Eve-Lyn. To me she was to be Daniel. I have always wanted a brother but I have four sisters and NO brothers.
That was my life - with Don, my love, my husband, my best friend. We had our ups and downs as all couples have but love kept us together, sixty years and ten months. Now I can join Donnie for eternity. The Schramm name can be carried on through our sons and our grandsons Jeremy and Collin, and our two great grandsons, Landon and Parker. My life was blessed richly by God. I am thankful for the life and love.
Evelyn is survived by her four children, Donald, Jr, David, Douglas (Julie) and Deborah Ogle; ten grandchildren, Jeremy (Allison), Rebecca (Jesse) Bratz, Collin, Michaela, Alicia (Jake) Copp, Rheannon (Tyler Martin), Megen (fiancé Jacob Boening), Theresa, Paul (Donna) Ogle and Lydia Ogle; three great grandchildren, Landon and Parker, and Ava Ogle; her sisters, Wanda Metcher and Connie Soike; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Besides her parents and her husband, Donnie, she was preceded in death by her sisters Carol and Geneva, her daughter-in-law, LuAnn, and her mother-in- law Lydia Schramm Keitel.
Funeral services will be conducted at Trinity Lutheran Church, 824 Wisconsin Avenue, in Sheboygan on Wednesday, July 12, 2017 at 1:00 p.m. with Pastor John Berg officiating. Family and friends are cordially invited to attend visitation starting at 11:00 a.m. Entombment will take place in Gardens of Peace Mausoleum.
