Eva M. Guth, 79, formerly of N. 38th Street, passed away Monday afternoon, April 21, 2014 at the Sheboygan Senior Community where she had been residing the past four years. Born February 9, 1935 in Breslau Schlesien, Germany, Eva Margarete was a daughter of the late Gerhard and Hildegard nee Linke Weiss. She was educated in Germany and was confirmed in 1949. In 1950, she met the love of her life, Erich F. Guth. Erich moved to the United States in 1952 and Eva followed two years later, marrying on April 16, 1954 in Fort Leonardwood, MO. Eva worked for the Sheboygan Housing Authority for 27 years, retiring in 1999. She was a lifelong member of St. Luke Lutheran Church in Sheboygan Falls where she was a member of the Mary Martha Circle. She also belonged to DANK, was a passive member of the Concordia Singers and was involved with the Mapledale School PTO. She loved attending her grandchildren's activities and especially enjoyed gardening. She is survived by her loving husband of 60 years and five days, Erich, Sheboygan; her four children, Erika (Neal) Degner, Germantown, WI, Manfred (Special friend Luisa Foster) San Jose CA & AZ, Gerhard (Jill) Guth, St. Louis Park, MN, and Elke (Carlton) Gieseke, Sheboygan; eight grandchildren, Sigrid and Kurt Degner, Germantown, WI, Anna, Jordan and Mitchell Guth, St. Louis Park, MN, and Eric, Alex and Carley Jo Gieseke, Sheboygan; her sister, Ruth (Manfred) Bonin, Burgwedel, Germany; a brother-in-law, Siegfried (Irma) Guth, Gtersloh, Germany; nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. Besides her parents, Gerhard and Hildegard, she was preceded in death by her mother and father-in-law, Friedrich and Marie Guth and an infant brother, Guenter. Funeral Services for Eva will take place at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 26, 2014 at St. Luke Lutheran Church, N6193 State Hwy 32, Sheboygan Falls, WI 53085. The Rev. Elizabeth Jaeger will officiate. Family and friends are welcome at the Olson Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 1132 Superior Avenue, Sheboygan, on Friday evening, April 25, 2014 from 5:00 - 7:00 p.m. and again at the church on Saturday afternoon from 2:00 p.m. until the time of service. Entombment will take place in the Chapel of Eternal Light of Greenlawn Memorial Park on Monday, April 28, 2014 at 9:00 a.m. A memorial fund has been established in her name for St. Luke Lutheran Church. The family would like to thank the nurses and staff of Sheboygan Senior Community, especially Tammy, Mary B. and Heather, as well at Dr. Murthy for all of their loving care and support shown to the Guth Family.
