Eugene Truttschel

Eugene G. Truttschel, 85, of Sheboygan, passed away Wednesday, July 14, 2021 at the Sharon S. Richardson Community Hospice surrounded by his family.
Born December 31,1935, in the Town of Mosel, Eugene was a son of the late Ervin and Aurelia Sixel Truttschel. He attended Haven Grade School and graduated from Sheboygan Central High School in 1953. He went on to serve his country in the U.S. Army until 1958. On June 24, 1961, he was united in marriage to Nancy J. Bienert at Bethlehem Lutheran Church. They were married for 34 years before Nancy preceded him in death on September 21, 1995. On February 27, 2001, he married Shelby J. Koll in Maui, Hawaii.
Gene worked for the Sheboygan County Highway Department for 34 years before his retirement. He enjoyed camping with his family, time up north with family and friends, deer hunting with his son, Randy, and traveling with Shelby to Arizona. He also enjoyed polka music and playing cards.
He is survived by his wife, Shelby; his children, Vicki Scharrer, Menomonee Falls, and Randy (Teri) Truttschel, Sheboygan; his granddaughter, Ashley (fiancé Corey Vogel) Truttschel, Sheboygan; his sister, LuAnn (Dennis) Baker, Sheboygan; his sister-in-law, Peggy (Greg) Strobel, Plymouth; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
He is further survived by Shelby's family; Mark (Debbie Zittel) Koll, Sheboygan, Rick (Wendy) Koll, Kohler, Robbie (Sharon) Koll, Manitowoc, and Cory (Michelle) Koll, Plymouth; Shelby's grandchildren, Kyle Koll, Plymouth, Andrew Koll, Madison, Joshua Koll, Eau Claire, and Ryan Koll, Plymouth; in-laws, Dale (Diane) Neese, Gary (Sharon) Neese, Neal (Carol) Neese, Bonnie (Dale) Spindler and June (Donnie) Wiemann.
Besides his parents and wife, Nancy, he was preceded in death by his brother, Emmet (Vannie) Truttschel; his brothers-in-law, Ronald Bienert and Glen Neese; and a sister-in-law, Sally Marver.
Funeral services for Gene will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, July 19, 2021 at the Lutheran Church of Our Redeemer, 3027 Wilgus Avenue. The Rev. Bryan Osladil will officiate. Family and friends are welcome at the church on Monday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. Interment will take place in Greenlawn Memorial Park.
A memorial fund has been established in his name for the Lutheran Church of Our Redeemer.
