Enola T. Malzahn, 91, formerly of Sheboygan, passed away Friday morning, April 13, 2018 at Cedar Grove Gardens where she had been residing.
Born June 27, 1926 in Sheboygan, Enola was a daughter of the late Walter and Adelia Fasse Lautenschlager. She attended Jefferson School and graduated from Sheboygan North High School. On September 29, 1945, she was united in marriage to George W. Malzahn at Ebenezer United Church of Christ. They were married for 43 years before George preceded her in death on August 26, 1989.
Enola worked at Mayline for over 20 years, retiring in June of 1988. She previously worked at Lakeside Packing and at Pine Hills Country Club. She was a member of Ebenezer United Church of Christ , the E.C.J. Circle and the Altar Guild. She was also a member of the United Women Fellowship, the Sunny Ridge Auxiliary and the Sheboygan County Historical Society & Museum. She enjoyed sewing, crafting, traveling and spending time with her grandchildren.
She is survived by her daughter, Wendy (David) Theune, Belgium; her daughter-in-law, Marlene Malzahn, Plymouth; her six grandchildren,Robert Malzahn, Adam Malzahn, David John (Julie) Theune, II, Christopher (Jennifer) Theune, Brian (special friend Francine) Theune, and Amanda (Nate) Ehlert; eight great grandchildren; her sister-in-law, Steffie Lautenschlager, Sheboygan; nieces, nephews,other relatives and friends.
Besides her parents and her husband, George, she was preceded in death by her son, Ronald F. Malzahn, her infant brother, Duane Lautenschlager and her brother Fred Lautenschlager, and her infant granddaughter, Connie Sue Theune.
Funeral services for Enola will take place at 12:00 p.m. on Tuesday, April 17, 2018 at Ebenezer United Church of Christ, 3215 Saemann Avenue. Pastor Roger Mealiff will officiate. Family and friends are welcome at the church on Tuesday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. Enola will be laid to rest at Wildwood Cemetery next to her husband, George.
A memorial fund has been established in her name for Ebenezer United Church of Christ.
