Mae Monti, age 94, entered eternal life on Saturday, December 27th 2014 while surrounded by her family at Aurora Memorial Medical Center, Sheboygan, WI. "Mae" was born August 12th, 1920 to Agnes and Fred Miller in Pittsburgh, PA. She married Joseph J. Monti April 29th, 1943 in Pittsburgh, PA. He proceeded her in death January 9th, 1982. Mae was born and raised in Pittsburgh, PA moving to Sheboygan, WI in 1985 to be closer to her daughter, son-in-law and granddaughters. They all were the love and joy of her life. Especially blessed were her grandchildren who, because she moved to an apartment across the street from North High School, were often able to spend their lunch time with her. Upon moving to Sheboygan, she began to volunteer as a receptionist at the Senior Activity Center for many years and enjoyed being involved with the people and activities there. Her hobbies included ceramics, hand-embroidery and latch-hook rugs among many other crafty projects. Mae was an avid reader and thoroughly enjoyed the challenge of word-search puzzles. She also enjoyed weekly card and board games as well as bingo with her friends. Mae was especially known for her candy-making abilities and was famous among family for her turtles. Mae truly enjoyed her two years at Taylor Park apartments as it brought her many more social opportunities and many new friends. She is survived by her daughter, Jo Anne (Jerry) Krysak; granddaughters Shelley (John) Aaholm, Appleton, WI and Tammy (Scott) Ertl, Cedarburg, WI; great granddaughters Lauren Aaholm and Ellie and Macy Ertl; brother Russell Miller, CA; daughter-in-law, Shirley Monti, Pittsburgh, PA; and devoted friend, Rose Henke, Sheboygan, WI. She was preceeded in death by husband Joseph J. Monti; son, Wayne J. Monti; her parents, three sisters and one brother. A Celebration of Life for Mae will take place at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 3, 2015 at the Olson Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 1132 Superior Avenue. The Rev. Timothy Mech will officiate. Family and friends are welcome at the funeral home on Saturday from 12:00 p.m. until the time of service. The family wishes to thank the medical staff in the ER as well as all of the nurses and CNA's on 2nd floor Med/Surgical wing at Aurora Memorial Medical Center and Dr. David Phelan and Dr. Brian Obrachta for their care, kindness and compassion.
