Elaine Louise Housey

Elaine Louise Housey, 93, of Sheboygan, passed away Sunday evening, May 23, 2021 at her home surrounded by her family.
Born June 26, 1927 in Sheboygan, Elaine was a daughter of the late Roy and Cathryn Schneider Corson. She attended Sheboygan area schools and graduated from Central High School. On March 16, 1946, she was united in marriage to Lawrence L. Housey at St. John United Church of Christ. They were married for 61 years before Lawrence preceded her in death on December 13, 2007.
Elaine worked at Mullen's Department Store selling ties prior to her marriage. She was a member of St. John United Church of Christ. She loved to travel, especially trips to Las Vegas, Michigan, Tennessee and Mississippi. She loved to gamble, playing bingo and cards with her close friend Carol Tichy. She found joy in making her own dresses and enjoyed watching her soap operas, shopping and going out to eat.
She is survived by her children, Richard (Shirley) Housey, Howards Grove, Marlene (Tom Kammerzelt) Schoen, Sheboygan, Ken (Jeanine) Housey, Sheboygan, Debbie Bunge, Howards Grove, Donnie Housey, Sheboygan, and Laura (Dave) Nitze, Sheboygan; numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Beside her parents and husband, Larry, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Kathy (Dale) Koelpin, her son-in-law, Brian Bunge, her brother, Donald Corson, and her sister, Marlene Jackett.
Funeral services for Elaine will take place at 12:00 p.m. on Friday, May 28, 2021 at the Olson Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 1132 Superior Avenue, Sheboygan. The Rev. Gregory Whelton will officiate. Family and friends are welcome at the funeral home on Friday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. Interment will take place in Lutheran Cemetery.
A memorial fund has been established in her name.
