Edward Donald Litz, age 93 of Sheboygan passed away October 6, 2017 at Sunny Ridge Nursing and Rehabilitation Center surrounded by his family.
Born July 12, 1924 in Sheboygan to Gottlieb and Blanch (Blummer) Litz, Ed attended local schools and is a WWII Army veteran. On August 3, 1946 he was united in marriage to Lorraine Zastrow at St. Paul's Ev. Lutheran Church. Ed was employed by Polar Ware as a welder for 44 years.
Ed is survived by his wife of 71 years, Lorraine, his children, Sharon (Rod) Church, Joanne (John) Picard, Terry (Kari) Litz and Lori (Mark) Pentek, 12 Grandchildren, 15 Great Grandchildren and 1 Great great grandchild and his sisters in law, Elaine Thieme & Judith Ziegelbauer.
He was preceded in death by his parents Gottleib and Blanch, daughter, Bonnie Litz, great grandson Tyler Smith, sister in law Dorothy (Edward) Soyring, brother in law Albert Thieme and special friends Roy Reivo and Darlene Colby.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, October 10, 2017 at St. Paul's Ev. Lutheran Church, 1810 N. 13th St., Sheboygan. The Rev. Alan Kretschmar will officiate. Family and friends will be received from 12 noon until 2:00 p.m. at the church. Entombment will follow at Gardens of Peace Mausoleum.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established in Ed's name.
The family would like to thank the nurses and staff of Sunny Ridge Nursing and Rehabilitation and Sharon S. Richardson Community Hospice for their loving care and support.
The Olson Funeral Home & Cremation Service has been entrusted with Ed's arrangements.
