Duane H. Lindow, 82, of Sheboygan, passed away Friday morning, December 12, 2014 at Sunny Ridge Health & Rehabilitation Center where he had been residing. Born June 9, 1932 in Kiel, WI, Duane was a son of the late Harry and Gertrude Rochlus Lindow. He attended area schools and graduated from Central High School. He then went on to serve his country in the U.S. Air Force in the 334th Fighter Squad during the Korean War. On September 1, 1967, he was united in marriage to Deloris Mae Prieve at St. Paul Ev. Lutheran Church in Sheboygan. Duane was a machinist at Thomas Industries until his retirement in 1998. He previously owned and operated L&S Machine Co. in Oostburg. He was an avid deer hunter and fisherman and enjoyed gardening. He is survived by his wife, Deloris; his children, Linda (Dan) Katte, Mill Springs, NC, Dave (Laura) Henshaw, Sheboygan, Susan (Thomas) Schmit, Menomonee Falls, WI, and John (Everest Brooks) Lindow, West Bend, WI; eight grandchildren, Jon (Reagan) Katte, Goose Creek, SC, Jennifer (Gus) Brown, Summerville, SC, and Julie (Peter) McLaughlin, Goose Creek, SC, Jessica (Alex) Horvat and Michael Henshaw, both of Sheboygan, Vanessa (Chad) Ubbelohde, Elizabethtown, KY, and Brian and Amanda Schmit, Menomonee Falls; fourteen great grandchildren, Kayla, Lynsey, Michael, Kristen, Matthew, Jacob, Connor, Aaron, Ella, Olivia, Jensen, Jaxsen, Hannah and Olivia; his brother, Donald (Jeanne) Lindow, Sheboygan; nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his step father, Norbert Jocis. Funeral services for Duane will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, December 15, 2014 at the Chapel of Eternal Light, 6706 Superior Avenue. Family and friends are welcome at the chapel on Monday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. Interment will take place in the Garden of Valor. A memorial fund has been established in his name. The Olson Funeral Home & Cremation Service has been entrusted with Duane's arrangements.
