Douglas L Kueter, age 75 of Gillette, Wyoming died on Monday, May 1, 2017.
Doug as he was known to everyone was born November 9, 1941, the son of Lester and LaVerne (Douglas) Kueter at Sheboygan, Wisconsin. Doug attended the majority of his elementary school years at St. Paul's Lutheran School and after graduating from North High School in 1960 he attended Lakeland College now called Lakeland University graduating in 1966 with a B.A. degree in music and then began his teaching career. Doug had the privilege, honor and pleasure of working with outstanding students at the elementary, jr. high and senior high levels in Wisconsin, Montana, North Dakota and finally in Wyoming, first Lovell and then Gillette where he finished his very successful teaching career. While teaching at Gillette one of his elementary rock bands auditioned and was selected to perform at the All Northwest Music Clinic which was held at Boise, Idaho but due to the age of the students and the distance to Boise they declined.
On May 1, 1988 Doug was presented an outstanding performance certificate, a teacher of the year nominee in the Campbell County School District.
After Doug retired from teaching he and his brother Jack joined the Gillette Golf Club and golfed at least five days per week. Doug was also a big Packer fan and would watch them whenever they were on TV. He also enjoyed traveling with his brother and their two favorite trips to Sheboygan, Wisconsin and Jackpot, Nevada.
Doug was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Gillette, Wyoming and enjoyed playing his trumpet with other members of the church at special services usually Reformation, Christmas and Easter.
Doug is survived by his brother: Jack L. Kueter of Gillette, Wyoming. He was preceded in death by his parents and infant brother William T. Kueter.
Visitation for Doug will take place on Thursday, May 11, 2017 from 5:00 P.M. until the time oF of service at 7:00 P.M. at the Olson Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 1132 Superior Ave., Sheboygan. The Rev. Alan Kretschmar will officiate. Burial will take place at Lutheran Cemetery.
