Dorothy L. Ruff, 91, of Sheboygan, passed away Thursday evening, October 12, 2017 at St. Nicholas Hospital surrounded by her family.
Born May 19, 1926 in Marshfield, WI, Dorothy was a daughter of the late Clarence J. and Kathryn M. Bie Krebsbach. She attended and graduated from Amery High School. On May 24, 1952, she was united in marriage to George A. Ruff in Phoenix, AZ. They were married for 54 years before George preceded her in death on February 28, 2007.
Dorothy worked for Mercury Marine in Fond du Lac for many years until her retirement. She was famous for making her orange cookies and her holiday dinners. She was a member of the Red Hat Society in Cumberland, WI. She enjoyed shopping at Christopher & Banks and wine time with her friends and family. There were many happy memories at the cabin in Barnes, WI and traveling with her husband George, especially to California.
She is survived by her daughter, Nancy (Michael) Davies, Sheboygan; her five grandchildren, Christopher (Jamie) Davies, West Fargo, ND, Kathryn (Michael) Hutterer, Denmark, WI, Andrew (Lindsay) Davies, Schofield, WI, Matthew Ruff, DePere and Sarah (Nicholas) Thern, Fond du Lac; eleven great grandchildren; her sister, Margie (Rocco) Morrella, San Jose, CA; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Besides her parents and her husband, George, she was preceded in death by her son, David Ruff.
A celebration of life will take place at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday, October 17, 2017 at the Olson Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 1132 Superior Avenue, Sheboygan. Deacon John Gavin will officiate. Family and friends are welcome at the funeral home on Tuesday from 3:00 p.m. until the time of service. Inurnment will take place in St. Peter Cemetery in Malone, WI.
A memorial fund has been established in her name.
