Doris C. (Nee Esch) Schall, 96, passed away Wednesday morning, June 12, 2013 at Terrace Estates where she had been residing. Born July 2, 1916 in South Milwaukee, Doris was a daughter of the late Benjamin and Ella Lena (Nee Quentin) Esch. She attended Milwaukee area schools and graduated from Bay View High School. On June 8, 1946, she was united in marriage to Rev. Harvey E. Schall at Evangelical Church in Milwaukee. They were married for 55 years before Harvey preceded her in death on November 18, 2001. Doris and Harvey's ministry touched many lives throughout Wisconsin. They served churches in Oak Creek (1941-45), Shullsburg (1945-49), Colby, Unity and Spencer (1952-56), St. Croix Falls (1956-58), Livingston, Rewey and Arthur (1958-63), Mineral Point and Willow Springs (1963-66), Wesley in Sheboygan (1966-76), and Colgate from 1976 until Harvey's retirement in 1979. Harvey and Doris located in West Bend after retirement until moving to Sheboygan to be closer to their family. Doris enjoyed cooking, gardening, and outdoor birds. In her younger years, she was involved with 4-H. She also had the best collection of church recipe books around. Prior to her marriage, Doris was a department store window demonstrator and corporate cafeteria manager. She is survived by her children, Sheldon and Maeline Schall, Waunakee, WI, and their children, Ryan (Melissa), Brandon and Adam; Cheryl and Atty. Mark Wurtz, Sheboygan and their children, Tara, Meghan (Dr. Christopher Heuck), Rhett (Kristin) and Trenton (fiancé Christina); and Arlin and Linda Schall, Overland Park, KS, and their children Alyssa and David; seven great grandchildren, Drew, Asher, Jordan, Kaden, McGuire, Romy and Anika; her brother, Howard and Naomi Esch; a sister-in-law, Ethel Esch; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Besides her parents and husband, Harvey, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Karen Schall and her brother, Lawrence Esch. Funeral services for Doris will take place at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, June 17, 2013 at Fountain Park United Methodist Church, 828 Erie Avenue. The Rev. Warren Waddell, pastor, will officiate. Family and friends are welcome at the church on Monday from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service. Entombment will take place in Wisconsin Memorial Park in Brookfield, WI, on Tuesday, June 18, 2013 at 11:30 a.m. A memorial fund has been established in her name for Fountain Park United Methodist Church.
