Donald F. Hoppe

Donald F. Hoppe age 86 passed away Thursday, May 24, 2018 at his home.

Born January 7, 1932 in Sheboygan to Henry and Emilie (Reimer) Hoppe he attended grade school at Trinity Lutheran School and he graduated from Central High School in 1950. On September 30, 1961 he was united in marriage to Elaine Bauer at Trinity Lutheran Church in Sheboygan. He worked as a pricing processor for the Kohler Company for 46 years, retiring in 1997. Don sang in the church choir for 70 years and was a member of other community choirs throughout the years. He was a loyal member of St. Paul’s Ev. Lutheran Church. He worked on payroll and served on a variety of committees there for 35 years. In his spare time he enjoyed reading, working crossword puzzles and golfing. Don was known to greet all with a quick smile, a kind “hello,” and sometimes, if you were lucky, a good joke.

Don is survived by his wife of 56 years, Elaine; His daughters, Julie (Tim) Hoppe-Mule' and Tina (Rick) Hardy; 5 grandsons, Kyle & Alex Mule' and Jace, Evan & Lucas Hardy.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his brothers and sisters, Emily, John, Christ, Hank, Sophie, Dave, Rich, Wilma, and Lil, as well as brothers and sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews.

A funeral service for Don will be held at 12 Noon Tuesday, May 29, 2018 at St. Paul's Ev. Lutheran Church, 1810 N. 13th St., Sheboygan. The Rev. Alan Kretschmar will officiate. Visitation will be held from 10:00 A.M. until the time of the service. Entombment will take place at the Garden Terrace Mausoleum.

A memorial fund has been established in his name for St. Paul's Ev. Lutheran Church.

The Olson Funeral Home & Cremation Service has been entrusted with Don's arrangements.
