Donald J. Cvetan, Sr., 87, of 2211 Camelot Blvd., died Monday, February 11, 2013, at Morningside Health Center. Born August 18, 1925, in Sheboygan, Don was a son of the late Anton and Clarissa Beaver Cvetan. In 1948 he married Mildred Froh. On March 21, 1986 he married Betty Toennies Oostydke. Don served his country during WW II in the U.S. Army and was stationed in Italy, Germany and France. He was a life member and former past Commander of VFW Sheboygan Memorial Post 9156. Don also served as 6th District Commander for the VFW. Don was a Master Plumber and owned Don Cvetan Plumbing until his retirement in 1987. Don was proud of the fact that all three of his sons followed in his plumbing footsteps and further branched out on their own with D & M Plumbing and Heating and Mike Cvetan Plumbing. He enjoyed gardening, golfing and going out for breakfast. Don loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren and great grandchildren. Don was a member of Holy Name Catholic Church. He was also a member of the Knights of Columbus from 1966 until the new building was built. Don is survived by one son, Don (Donna) Cvetan, Jr., of Sheboygan; two grandchildren, Jon (Dena) Cvetan and their children, Jzaban, Hoyt, Styer; Jennifer (Matthew) Paral and their son Chase; one sister, Lillian Mathieu, Tampa, FL; three brothers, Roger Cvetan, Kansas City, MO, Frank Cvetan, Sheboygan, Ken (Marcie) Cvetan, Livermore, CA; and his son Michael Cvetan's widow, Kelly Cvetan; two step grandchildren; four step great grandchildren; two step sons; Mark and Tom Oostydke and their families; nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Anton and Clarissa; two sons, Michael and Brian and two brothers, Cyril and Robert. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, February 15, 2013, at 12:30 p.m. Holy Name Catholic Church, 807 N. 8th St., with the Rev. James Connell, pastor, as celebrant. Relatives and friends are welcome at the church on Friday from 10:00 a.m., until the time of the mass. Burial with Military Honors will be in Lutheran Cemetery. The family would like to thank Drs. Pawlak and Gentine and the nurses and staff of Morningside Health Center for the loving care they gave Don. A memorial fund has been established in his name.
