Diane Evelyn Popovich, age 77 of Sheboygan, passed away peacefully Saturday, June 3rd, 2017 at Sharon S. Richardson Community Hospice. She was born August 2, 1939 in Sheboygan to Edward N. and Virginia (Schirmer) Sohre. She graduated in 1957 from Central High School and later earned a Masters Degree in Psychology from the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh. In her career, she ran a family counseling service in Plymouth and ran the Southside Music & More Store in Sheboygan.
Diane is survived by her children, Kathleen (James) Noel of Austin, TX, Steven (Kathryn) Popovich of Little Chute and Robert Popovich of Houston, TX, her grandchildren; Christopher (Sarah) Noel of Austin, TX, David Noel of Austin, TX, Scott Popovich, Jr. of Sheboygan and Cassaundra Popovich of Little Chute, two great grandchildren and two brothers, Daniel (special friend, Shirley Jansen) Sohre and John (Jeanne) Sohre. Diane was loved very much by her family, and she will be dearly missed.
She was preceded in death by her parents Edward and Virginia, a son, Scott Popovich, Sr. and her former husband Dr. Robert Popovich.
She was always there for her family, in many ways sacrificing her own self interest as part of her generosity. She had a strong love of nature and animals (especially cats). For enjoyment, she loved to travel, including camping and hiking at several pacific Northwestern National Parks and spending time at Terry Andrae State Park.
Family and friends are invited to gather on Friday, June 9, 2017 from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Olson Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 1132 Superior Avenue, Sheboygan. Interment will take place at Greenlawn Memorial Park.
Diane had a goal of never having to go into a nursing home, in which she succeeded.
A memorial fund has been established in Diane's name.
