Diane Louise Lang, 86, of Sheboygan, passed away Wednesday, May 18, 2016 at the Sharon S. Richardson Community Hospice.
Born December 1, 1929 in Sheboygan, Diane was the daughter of the late Oliver and Emma Uebe Stuefen. She attended area schools and graduated from Sheboygan North High School in 1947. Upon graduation, she was employed at Mayline for two years. On September 17, 1949, she was united in marriage to Willard H. Lang at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Sheboygan. They were married for 65 years before Willard preceded her in death on June 5, 2015.
Diane was a homemaker for most of her life but worked part time at St. Nicholas Hospital for six years. She was a member of St. Mark Lutheran Church, the Daughters of St. Mark's, the altar guild, and the R&R Retiree's Group. She volunteered for the Red Cross for 35 years, Sunny Ridge Nursing Home and Partners in Reading. She enjoyed traveling, knitting, sewing, reading and baby sitting her grandchildren. She also had a love of dogs.
She is survived by her children, Gary (Kathleen) Lang, Sturgeon Bay, Richard (Jean) Lang, Wausau, David (Julie) Lang, Sheboygan, and twins, Mark Lang and Mary (Randy) Chapman, both of Sheboygan; 10 grandchildren, Marika Lang, Eliot Lang, Amara (Maher Al-Barati) Lang, Christian Lang, Matthew Lang, Adam Lang, Elise (Paul) Gessler, Evan Lang, Allison Lang and Andrew Chapman; her step-sister, Mary Ann (Donald) Ahrens and her sister-in-law, Betty Stuefen; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Besides her parents and husband, Willard, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Richard (Kathryn) Stuefen and James Stuefen, sisters-in-law, Eleanore (Walter) Kuhlow, Frieda (Herb) Hasenstein, and Hilda (Roland) Kelling.
Funeral services for Diane will take place at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, May 23, 2016 at St. Mark's Lutheran Church, 1019 N. 7th Street. Pastor Brett Matz will officiate. Family and friends are welcome at the church on Monday from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service. Interment will take place in Sheboygan Falls Cemetery.
A memorial fund has been established in her name.
