Dennis F. Schwartz, 73, of Sheboygan, passed away Monday morning, December 26, 2016 at his home.
Born June 23, 1943 in Manitowoc, WI, Dennis was a son of the late Herbert and Leona Schmitt Schwartz. He attended Kiel area schools and graduated Kiel High School in 1961. He continued his education at Lakeshore Technical College, studying automotive technology. On August 28, 1971, he was united in marriage to Donnette M. Knuth at Holy Name of Jesus Catholic Church.
Dennis worked as an automotive technician for Sheboygan Chrysler for many years, retiring in 2001. He previously worked at RPM Speed & Custom and at Meyer Auto. He was a member of Holy Name of Jesus Catholic Church. He was an avid sportsman who enjoyed hunting, fishing and camping. He also enjoyed drag racing, having worked on pit crews and as a driver. He loved attending the EAA every year. One of his greatest joys was spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Donnette; his children, Diane (Dave) Tershner, Sheboygan, Doreen (Tony, Sr.) Reineking, Sheboygan, Dan (Tami) Schwartz, Manitowoc, and Dana (Ryan) Bayer, Sheboygan; eleven grandchildren, Kim (fiancé Dan Lopour) Schwartz, Tony Reineking, Jr., Kyle Reineking, Brandy (friend Matt Warner) Tershner, and Cody (friend Amber Koening) Tershner, all of Sheboygan, Seth Schwartz, Manitowoc, Faith Bayer, Wausau, Riley Bayer, Sheboygan, Peyton Schwartz, Manitowoc, and Eli and Owin Bayer, both of Sheboygan; his two great grandchildren, Andre Souvannasot and Zyla Reineking, both of Sheboygan; his sister, Audry Olig, Plymouth; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Herbert (Betty) Schwartz, Eugene (Sara) Schwartz, his brother-in-law, Albert Olig, and his mother and father-in-law, Harold and Lilly Knuth.
Funeral services will take place at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, December 29, 2016 at Olson Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 1132 Superior Avenue. Family and friends are welcome at the funeral home on Thursday from 4:00 p.m. until the time of service.
A memorial fund has been established in his name.
