Delores M. Smith

Delores M. Smith, 93, of Sheboygan, passed away Tuesday evening, December 15, 2020 at the Sharon S. Richardson Community Hospice surrounded by her family.
Born June 10, 1927 in Sheboygan, Delores was a daughter of the late Arthur and Florence Thorton Thorsby. She attended Sheboygan area schools. On November 13, 1948, she was united in marriage to Earl J. Smith in Sheboygan. They were married for 53 years before Earl preceded her in death on February 16, 2002.
Delores worked at the Armira Leather Company until they closed. She then worked at the Super 8 Motel. She was a member of Ebenezer United Church of Christ.
She is survived by her children, Marilee Voechting, Sheboygan Falls, Gary Smith and Pam (Rob) Straus, both of Sheboygan; three grandchildren, Renee (Steve) Baker, Brian (Stacy) Sischo and Erica Straus (Stephen Gilbert); 7 great grandchildren; other relatives and friends.
Besides her parents and her husband, Earl, she was preceded in death by 2 sisters and 3 brothers.
A memorial services for Delores is being planned for the spring. Inurnment will take place in the Chapel of Eternal Light.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established in her name to Sharon Richardson Community Hospice.
The family would like to thank the nurses and staff of the Sharon S. Richardson Community Hospice and Aurora Medical Hospital for all of their loving care and support.
