Delores A. Heinen, 70, of Sheboygan, passed away on Thursday evening, June 4, 2015 at St. Nicholas Hospital. Born December 6, 1944 in Sheboygan, Delores was a daughter of the late Otto and Alice Bennett Schaefer. She attended area schools and graduated from Sheboygan North High School in 1963. Delores worked at Hydrolic Tools for many years and then worked as a cook at Lakeland College. She was a former member of St. Peter and St. Mark Lutheran Churches. She was a long time quilter. She is survived by her partner, Kenneth Leitner, Sheboygan; her granddaughter, Heather Heinen, Sheboygan; her brother, Bill & Linda Schaefer, Bowling Green, VA; and her cousin and best friend, Kathy Gunderson, Sheboygan; and cousins, Alice Ernst & Edith Gartman, both of Sheboygan. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Wendy Heinen and her son, Scott Heinen. A memorial services for Delores will take place at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday, June 10, 2015 at the Olson Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 1132 Superior Avenue. The Rev. Kathy Reid will officiate. Family and friends are welcome at the funeral home on Wednesday from 4:00 p.m. until the time of service. A memorial fund has been established in her name for the patient care fund at the Sharon S. Richardson Community Hospice. The family would like to thank the St. Nicholas Hospital ICU and Doctors Bettag, Barnes and Kream who took very good care of Delores. The Olson Funeral Home & Cremation Service has been entrusted with Delores' arrangements.
