David Lee Claussen

David L.Claussen, 71, of Cedar Grove, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, October 18, 2017, at his home.

David was born on June 17, 1946, in Sheboygan to Arthur and Dena (TenPas) Claussen. He attended Cedar Grove High School. David was employed for 43 years as a foundry worker for Willman Industries in Cedar Grove. David enjoyed collecting model cars, going out to eat, and taking Sunday drives. David loved and cherished his grandchildren.

David is survived by his daughter, Wendy Claussen of Sheboygan; son, Troy (Jenny) Claussen of Sheboygan; two grandchildren, Gretchen Claussen, and Abigayle Claussen; brother, Erwin (Shirley) Claussen of Cedar Grove; two sisters, Caroline Staaben of Sheboygan, and Mary Ann (Darrell) Anderson of Elkhart Lake; sister-in-law, Diane Claussen of Sheboygan Falls; brother-in-law, Richard Smith of Sheboygan; and former wife and friend, Sharon Claussen of Sheboygan. He is further survived by aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.

David was preceded in death by his parents; an infant son Thomas Claussen; step-father, Donald DeBlaey; two brothers, Robert Claussen, and James Claussen; sister, Jane Claussen; brother-in-law, Michael Staaben; grandparents, Minnie and Elmer TenPas, and Jenny and John Claussen; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Julius and Marion Smith; and his beloved faithful companions, Gizmo and kitty.

A graveside service will be held on Friday, October 27, 2017 at 2:00 pm at Hartman Cemetery in Oostburg with Rev. Julia Hollister officiating.

A memorial fund is being established in his name.

The Olson Funeral Home & Cremation Service has been entrusted with David's Arrangements.
