David R. Balzer, 63, of 615 Zimbal Ave., died Tuesday September 25, 2013, at Golden Living Center. Born June 20, 1950, in Sheboygan, David was a son of Marion Feldhausen Balzer and Robert Balzer. On June 11, 1980, he was united in marriage to Pamela Quast. David served his country during the Vietnam War in the U.S. Navy aboard the USS Wichita which saw action in Vietnam. David was employed as a postal carrier for the Sheboygan Post Office for 22 years, retiring in 1999. He loved photography, hunting and his true passion was spending time outdoors at his hunting cabin. He is survived by his wife Pam; four sons, Matthew (Tazia) Korb, Sheboygan, Everett (Andrea) Korb, Kingston, TN, Christopher Balzer, Oak Creek, WI, Jonathan (Jennifer) Balzer, Milwaukee, WI; three grandchildren, Konor, Ethan and Joshua Korb; a half sister, Tammy Balzer, special friends, Bill and Diane Basler; other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents Robert and Marion. A Gathering to Celebrate the Life of David will be held from 1:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. Saturday, September 28, 2013, at the Olson Funeral Home and Cremation Service. Immediately following the gathering, Military Honors will be given to David at the funeral home. The family would like to thank the nurses and staff of Golden Living Center for the loving care they gave David.
