Darlene Van De Kreeke

Darlene Joan (Schneider) Van De Kreeke 84, died unexpectedly Saturday January 27, 2018.

Darlene was born February 7, 1933 in Sheboygan to Alfred & Norma (Mahnke) Schneider. She attended St. Paul’s Lutheran School.

On August 5, 1950 Darlene was united in marriage to Leroy Van De Kreeke of Sheboygan at Bethlehem Lutheran Church.

Darlene was employed at Morningside Nursing home as a CNA from 1969-1974. She was also employed at the Sheboygan Retirement Home as a CNA for 21 years, retiring in 1995. Darlene was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church for many years and following retirement she cleaned at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church for five years and volunteered with other activities.

Darlene loved to embroider, do puzzle books, and go to ceramic classes.

Darlene is survived by three children, JoNell (John) Toerpe, Robin (David) Markworth, all of Sheboygan and Scott Van De Kreeke of Kiel; seven grandchildren, Nicole (Jeremy) Wagner, Michael (Angie) Toerpe, Hollie (Troy) Kroll, Branden (Trisha) Toerpe, Jennifer (Neil) Woelfel, Stefanie (Bradley) Albrecht, Hannah Van De Kreeke; great-grandchildren, Aiden, Isaac, Evan & Autumn Wagner, Levi, Veyda & Zephyr Toerpe, Taylar Kroll, Lydia & Nolan Woelfel, Carter and Baby Albrecht (due in April). She is also survived by a sister Sharry (Allan) Brack.

Darlene was preceded in death by her husband Leroy (December 2006) and her parents.

Funeral Services for Darlene will be held at 6:00 P.M. Tuesday, January 30, 2018 at St. Paul's Ev. Lutheran Church, 1810 North 13th Street, Sheboygan. The Rev. Alan Kretschmar will officiate. Relatives and friends may call at the church from 4:00 P.M. until the time of service. Private entombment will take place at Gardens of Peace Mausoleum.

A memorial fund has been established in her name for St. Paul’s Lutheran Church.

She will be dearly missed by all her family and friends who she truly loved and always wanted to share special time with. God has taken your hand and has lead you home.
