Daniel H “Dinty” Mohr, 63, of Simpsonville, SC, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, October 12, 2023 at his home of a cardiac arrest.
Born May 2, 1960 in Fond du Lac, Dan was a son and 5th child of the late Wilfred H. and Yvonne R. (Smrz) Mohr. He attended Fond du Lac area schools and graduated from Goodrich High School in 1978. On August 1, 1981 he was united in marriage to Beth (Helmer) Ewerdt, in Fond du Lac, WI. They had 2 children together Jeremiah and Alexandra. While they parted ways, they remained friends through the years. He was also married to Barb Jones on March 7th, 2003, they too, parting ways, but remained friends.
Dan worked in logistics for Walmart for many years.
Many may remember him serving a drink or two at Buffalo Bills Saloon and Google’s Inn in Fond du Lac. One would say Dan was “Quick with a joke or to light up your smoke”.
Dan was a former member of Memorial Baptist Church in Fond du Lac, WI.
Dan was a fantastic cook and loved to try new recipes. One could never go wrong with something that he prepared.
In his free time, Dan enjoyed shooting pool and was involved in pool leagues in both Fond du Lac and Simpsonville. Dan also was an avid bowler and involved with leagues as well in both Fond du Lac and Simpsonville. He loved just chilling with his beloved dog Daphne and enjoying the company friends at their favorite places. In his years living in South Carolina, he made many trips back to the Fond du Lac area to visit his children, family and friends.
Quote from Dan that was found as he posted the most beautiful picture of some clouds in the sky. “It is these little things that make me think the good Lord is showing us he is still there watching over all of us.”
He is survived by his children, Jeremiah Mohr (Leslie Hardiman) of Fond du Lac, Alexandra Mohr (Scott Mayer) of Sheboygan and their mother Beth Ewerdt of Fond du Lac. Dan is further survived by his 7 siblings, Susie (Bud) O’Neill of Fond du Lac, Denny (Sue) Mohr of Clinton, CT, Sandy (Chuck) Horien of Fond du Lac, Don (Erin) Mohr of Fond du Lac, Cyndi (John) Murphy of Killeen, TX, Sherry Kiser of Fond du Lac and Shelly (John) Nowak of Kewaskum; many nieces, nephews, his beloved dog Daphne, Barb Jones of Janesville, WI as well as many relatives and many friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents Wilfred and Yvonne Mohr and nephew Thomas Mohr.
The family of Dan would like to graciously thank Dan Quam and Mike Fulton, as well as the Police department and first responders of Simpsonville with their help in this matter.
A celebration of life is being planned for a later date.
The Olson Funeral Home & Cremation Service in Sheboygan has been entrusted with Dan's arrangements.
