Daniel P. Korkko, 74, of Plymouth, peacefully passed away Sunday evening, August 27, 2023, at Southern Horizon Assisted Living in Plymouth, WI.
Born April 7, 1949, in Calumet, MI, Dan was the son of the late Albert and Edla (Lempea) Korkko. In 1967, he graduated from Lake Linden-Hubbell High School. Dan went on to serve his country in the U.S. Navy.
Dan worked for the copper mines, Kohler Company, Kmart, and retired from The Toro Company. He enjoyed playing guitar, hunting, bowling, being at the racetrack, and being a collector of "stuff". He could talk to anyone about anything when he had the opportunity.
Dan is survived by his children, Amy (Scott) Wieland, Sheboygan, WI, Ginny (Tom) Korkko-Borts, Oak Creek, WI, Sara (Jason) Arriaga, Wiesbaden, Germany, Matthew (Diana) Korkko, Sheboygan, WI, and Heather Stevens (Shawn Miller), Manitowoc, WI; his sisters, Carolyn Ziemnick and Mary Ann Yrjana; brother, Timothy (Barbara) Korkko; sister in law, Patricia Korkko; 12 grandchildren; a great-grandchild; nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Bruce and Norman Korkko; his sister, Grace Korkko; and brother-in-laws, Bruce Ziemnick and William Yrjana.
As per Dan's wishes, no services will be held. Inurnment will take place at Lake View Cemetery in Calumet, MI.
The family would like to thank the doctors, nurses, and staff of the Aurora Medical Center, The Vince Lombardi Cancer Clinic, Plymouth Health Services, Southern Horizon Assisted Living and the Sharon S. Richardson Community Hospice for all of their loving care and support during this time.
The Olson Funeral Home & Cremation Service has been entrusted with Dan's arrangements.
