Dakota J. Hartl, 19, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, March 4, 2016 at the Aurora Sheboygan Memorial Medical Center.
Dakota was born on November 1, 1996 in Mauston a daughter to Kevin and Bonnie(Turgeon) Hartl. She attended Washington Elementary, Urban Middle and North High Schools. She currently attending and would have graduated in May from Tower Academy. Dakota was a hostess at Buffalo Wild Wings.
Dakota is survived by her son Levi; Levi's father and loving friend, Isaiah Beasley of Sheboygan; her mother, Bonnie Turgeon of Sheboygan, her father, Kevin Hartl of Sheboygan, her sisters, Brittany Hartl, and Tanya Turgeon both of Sheboygan; her brothers, Guy Hartl and Jesse Turgeon, both of Sheboygan, Nate Grimmons of Georgia and Jay Turgeon of Texas. She is further survived by aunts, uncles, cousins and her dog Snookie. She was preceded in death by her maternal and paternal grandparents.
A memorial service for Dakota will be held 5 p.m. Friday, March 11 at the Olson Funeral Home and Cremation Service with Rev. Kathy Reid officiating. Family and friends may gather at the funeral home, 1132 Superior Avenue, from 3 p.m. until the time of service at 5 p.m.
The family would like to take time to acknowledge and thank members of the community that worked with Dakota throughout her life. Thanks to her family at Tower Academy High School, Lorrie Ruiz and the STARS program, Mary Gustafson, Central High School Parenting Lab, her longtime mentor, Courtney Bartzen, Peter Bartzen, Levi's paternal grandmother, Andrea Batt and countless others throughout the community. Thank you for being an incredible part of her journey.
