With his family by his side, Clyde F. Post, Jr. 76, died Monday, October 21, 2013, at Sharon S. Richardson Community Hospice, following a courageous battle with cancer. Born May 31, 1937, in Sheboygan, Clyde was a son of the late Clyde and Henrietta Laux Post. He attended St. Paul Lutheran School and graduated from Central High School in 1955. On June 3, 1961, he was united in marriage to Judith A. Maxey at Immanuel Ev. Lutheran Church where he was an active member. That happy union lasted 52 years and Clyde and Judy were blessed with five sons. Clyde was employed as a courier for the Sheboygan Clinic until his retirement. He was previously employed by General Box Co. for 35 years. Clyde loved bowling, hunting with his brothers and sons, camping, going to the cottage in fall, the Packers and the Yankees. He especially loved the annual family gatherings, the Post family picnic each July, Christmas and Good Friday Fish Frys. He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and attending their school activities. He is survived by his wife, Judy; five sons, Michael (Eilleen) Post, Mark (Julie) Post, David (Lori) Post, Scott, (Roberta) Post, Duane Post; eight grandchildren, Michael, Jr. (Emily) Post, Natasha (special friend, Zach Nottling) Post, Corbin (special friend, Mandy Ten Pas) Post, Hannah Post, Olivia Post, Derek Post, Dana Post, Nathan Post; one great-grandson, Blake Post, Sheboygan; two brothers James (Mary) Post, Thomas (Ann) Post; two sisters, Janice Brown, Jean (Shorty) Maxwell; one sister-in-law, Diane Post; nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. He was preceded in death by his mother and father Henrietta and Clyde, his brother Robert and a brother-in-law Roger Brown. Funeral services will be held at 7:00 p.m., Thursday at Olson Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 1132 Superior Ave. The Rev. Adam Scheblein, pastor of Immanuel Ev. Lutheran Church, will officiate. Relatives and friends are welcome at the funeral home on Thursday from 4:00 p.m. until the time of service. Burial will be in Lutheran Cemetery. A memorial fund has been established in Clyde's name. The family would like to thank the nurses and staff of Sharon S. Richardson Community Hospice, the staff at Matthews Oncology and the staff at St. Nicholas Hospital for the loving care they gave Clyde.
