Clarona Ann Bartzen, 96, passed away peacefully in her sleep on June 18, 2026, surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Sheboygan, daughter of the late John and Alice (Lugg) Schroeder. She graduated from Sheboygan North High School.

On June 14, 1952, she was united in marriage to Walter Bartzen. They celebrated 30 years of marriage, before Walter preceded her in death in 1983. Clarona spent years as a stay-at-home mom. She volunteered as a Cub Scout and Girl Scout leader for her children’s dens and troop. For several years she worked at St. Dominic as a lunchtime supervisor. Clarona did babysitting at her home for many children over the years getting to know many wonderful families.

Clarona’s pride and joy was her family. She loved spending time with them creating many cherished and lasting memories. Going to the Blue Line Skate Center to watch Pauline and Roger’s three children play hockey was a highlight of hers. She also enjoyed watching the Brewers and professional hockey games especially the Detroit Red Wing games. She was an avid reader and talented embroider, embroidering many hand towels for her family and friends.

Clarona is survived by her sons; Jim (Ruth) and Mike (Debbie) Bartzen, and daughter Pauline (Roger) Ostermann. Her grandchildren; Andrew Bartzen, Joshua (Kristen) Bartzen, Peter (Courtney) Bartzen, Jamie (Paul) Velvikis, Carrie (Aaron) Holewinski, John (Kayla) Ostermann, and Lisa (Ken) Wilkey, and 13 great-grandchildren. She is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Walter, brothers; Roger and Edward, sisters; Bernice, Faye, and Carol, and by her grandson Craig Ostermann.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, June 29, 2026, at 11:30 AM at St. Dominic Catholic Parish, 2133 N. 22nd St. Sheboygan, with Fr. Dennis Beltre officiating. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery. Relatives and friends may visit with the family on Monday, June 29, 2026, from 10:00 AM until the time of mass at the CHURCH.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Sharon S. Richardson Community Hospice in Clarona’s name.

The family would like to express their gratitude to the staff at the Shores of Sheboygan and Sharon S. Richardson Community Hospice for all their care, compassion and support.
